UFC 115 Liddell vs Franklin
  • By admin Posted: June 8th, 2010

After a long layoff and UFC having to endure Chuck Liddell’s appearance on “Dancing with the Stars” die hard UFC fans finally get to see Chuck “The Ice Man” Liddell back in the octagon! This is one UFC Event you cannot miss!! UFC 115 is a packed fight card with an awesome main event. Although we all expected to see Chuck vs Tito, the fight with Franklin should be a good one. I predict someone getting KO’d!

    The Ultimate Fighter 11

On this seasons “Ultimate Fighter” coaches Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz started out as the coaches, and We were all hoping to see Chuck and  Tito go at each other for the 3rd time. unfortunately a couple weeks ago Tito pulled out due to a neck injury. Dana White surprised everyone by “firing” Tito and bringing in a replacement coach Rich “Ace” Franklin to finish out the season and be Chuck Opponent at UFC 115.  This should be a great fight and both fighters need a win here. Both these former champions have been struggling in their last few fights, and chuck has hinted this may be his last time on the octagon.

    Chuck Liddell

Chuck has had a rough time in his last five fights going 1-4 and losing 2 straight matches by brutal knockout first by Evens and then by Rua. some people are saying Liddell is too old  (40) and just washed up, but Chuck has said he plans on Knocking out Franklin and wants to fight Ortiz when and if he recovers from his injury. Regardless of what is being said, he looks like he is in top shape on the Ultimate Fighter and he seems to have that old fire back.

    Rich Franklin

Rich “Ace” Franklin is a former Light Heavyweight Champion like Liddell, and his last 5 fights he has gone 3-2 losing his last fight getting KO’d by Victor Belfort. People close to rich said although he is taking this fight on short notice, he is in shape, healthy, and hungry to regain his status as a top contender. The smack talk between Liddell and Franklin has already started on the Ultimate Fighter, this week will be the first episode since Franklin took over as coach. With only a couple weeks left in this season I don’t expect too much fireworks, but Chuck is still upset about Tito pulling out and says he plans on taking it out on Franklin. Either way this should be a great match-up of former champs.
